The St. Paul Wildcats entered the C1-9 Subdistrict tournament trying to end a 2 game-losing streak Monday night at Doniphan-Trumbull High School against the Centura Centurions. The Cats did so in comeback fashion squeaking out a 56-50 victory ending the Centurion's season for the 2nd year in a row. First quarter action saw the two teams combine for 28 points as Centura edged St. Paul 16-12 in the frame.

The Wildcats took halftime adjustments to heart from coaches Chip Bahe and Rob Wegner as they outscored Centura 15-11 finding themselves just 3 points out of the lead at 42-39 heading into the final frame of regulation. The Cats never led in the contest until 2 minutes into the 4th as the teams began to trade leads up until there was :55 to go in the 4th quarter as Senior Sam Wells was able to get 2 free throws to close out the scoring as Centura wasn't able to generate any buckets at the end of the game. With the win St. Paul advances to Tuesday nights semifinal game against host team Doniphan Trumbull and ultimately ends Centura's season for the second year in a row.
