Firefighters to Return to GI

GRAND ISLAND, NE: The 87th Nebraska State Volunteer Firefighters Association Fire School will be taking place at Fonner Park on May 17-19, 2024. 

Approximately 1,000 firefighters from across the state of Nebraska will participate. The school offers volunteer firefighters 33 classes in all phases of firefighting, fire investigation, rescue, fire safety, leadership, officer training, fire prevention, and EMS. 

Governor Pillen will be the keynote speaker for the event’s opening ceremonies. During the opening ceremonies, the association will hand out recognition awards for firemanship, heroism, cooperative fire prevention, department fire prevention, leadership, and more.
