Christmas Comes Early For The Grand Island Fire Department

(Grand Island, NE) - Christmas came early for the Grand Island Fire Department. A part of this year's budget included the funds to purchase 35 sets of bunker gear (half of the department) and a new fire helmet for each of our shift personnel (69 total). The department just received these items and will be placing them in service soon. In a Facebook post, the GIFD thanked City Council members, Mayor Roger Steele, and the residents of Grand Island for the much-needed safety equipment.
